Losing you, sweet papa, has caused a colossal emptiness inside. A recurring nightmare; haunting me No matter where I hide. An open wound, tenaciously refusing to heal. A crushing tragedy; an excruciating ordeal. But don’t worry daddy, the lord has not forgotten. He has filled me with faith and hope; Enveloped me with his mercy and compassion. And have you forgotten the diamond you’d left behind? My backbone; my shining star; My beloved mother, without whom, I wouldn’t have become who I am. Life, in essence, is but make-believe. One day life’s illusory barriers, which are keeping us apart, Will crumple and concede. It will be then, daddy that our paths will cross And we shall meet. Hopefully, with God’s consent, cuddled in your arms Where I will once again breathe.
