Ok Sowen is a religus holiday for me It takes place on October 31st Sowen was created by the Ancient Celts Every year on this sacred day people would go door to door and share pastries and other baked goods If you were generous and gave to people you would get a treat But if you were cold and never gave anything you would get a trick, a trick could sometimes cost you your life SO BE NICE!! :) If you were not collecting and giving pasteries you were having a party in your home People would be singing and sharing pastries (XD go figure eh?) This holiday was very fun ok now for the sacred part Sowen is the one day of the year where pasted loved ones come to this would for a visit This leads to the story behind the jack-o-lantern The jack-o-lanterns were originally made with turnips And like today had scary faces carved into them The purpose of theses carved vegetables were to scare away dark, evil spirits away To allow loved ones to enter our homes before leaving til the coming year Soon Catholics adopted this holiday and renamed it All Hallows Eve Wich Soon was adopted by christians and made into the modern holiday Hallowe'en :)
