Overview of Christianity
Christians believe that if you live according to the bible and accept Jesus into your heart that you will be accepted into the kingdom of heaven.

The main holidays of Christianity are Easter; which is the resurrection of Jesus Crist, Good Friday; which is the day during which Jesus got crucified, and Christmas; which is the celebration of the birth of Jesus. The holidays of Christmas are also known as the Liturgical Calender.
Christianity was origionally all one group but during the 15 century Martin Luther decided that the corruption that was the Catholic Church was getting out of hand. He then created his own church; now known as the Luthren Church, which was the first protastant religion. The protastant faiths have many things in common with the orthodox faith but are less extreme in some of their approaches.
Christianity origionated out of Israel and the Jewish people. It was origionally a jewish sect that believed that Jesus was the savior and had come to teach of gods word. Because of this the Jewish holy book and the Old Testament are nigh on identical. Christianity has since spread to be the most widespread religion in the world.
Christianity is a monotheistic religion. This means that they only believe in one god who is completely supreme. In Genesis it says that God created the world in 6 days, and on the 7th day he rested. Thus in Christianity the 7th day of the week; Sunday, is considered a holy day.
In the Catholic religion the head of their church is the Pope. He is said to be the voice of God and is titled 'His Holiness' . His word is supreme. He is answerable only to the Cardinals. The Current Pope is Pope Benedict the XVI
