Growing up in Atlanta, Martin attended Booker T. Washington High School. He skipped ninth and tenth grade and entered Morehouse College at age fifteen, without formally graduating from high school.King then began doctoral studies in systematic theology at Boston University and recived his doctorate in philosophy on June 5, 1955. He began to try and encourage black people to stand up for themselves against racist gangs and organisations such as the Klu Klux Klan, a racist group of white people who wore special costumes and killed or persecuted black people whenever they could. How He Became a Leader
Martin Luther King shows leadership because he stands up for what he believes in, he was part of the Civil Rights Movement and lead the African- American non-violent protests. He showed the keys to success and he wasn't afraid of all the people who hated what he was doing.
How He Shows Leadership
Martin Luther King was a constructive leader so he achieved good things. He showed America and the rest of the world that it doesn't matter what colour your skin is and that we are all equals. He made lots of public speeches and he had lots of fans, but also lots of people who didn't like what he was doing. He had the idea that there could be a world where black people and white people were treated as equals and he put his idea into actions which is a big achievement.
