Ancient greece, Rome and Egypt architecture
Ancient Egypt: Egyptians have gone through so little change in the history of architecture. However, what has changed is big. People think that Egypt never really evolved; but they are wrong. Egyptians build different kinds of buildings in different time- periods just like any other civilization. In the early civilization, they made mostly only tombs with a flat roof. Then throughout time as they evolved they started to build a pyramid tomb(most tombs seen today look like this). This just shows that Egyptians did invent things very much to do with architecture, as well as evolve into new building styles over time. The Egypt pyramids and houses influenced our architecture today. In Egypt there were many different kinds of pyramids there were step pyramids, red pyramids, and bent pyramids. Also there was the great pyramid of Giza which was a larch structure. Also houses were different; some houses had a flat roof some of the houses had a front and back door, the Egyptians used ramps to get to the different floor. These all influenced the architecture today.
Ancient Greece: in Greece the three types of columns were important to the ancient civilization in Greece there are three types’ f columns the Doric, Ionic, and the Corinthian. The columns are what stabilized the temples these columns influenced our architecture today for stabilizing buildings, for beauty, and art. This is how the columns influenced us today. Greece like Egypt has also evolved and invented things on their way through architectural history. The first kind of building built in Greece was small houses and huts, which had wooden walls around them for protection. Nevertheless, by early Bronze Age, there was one bigger house in the center of the village, which was which had even fancier and much larger walls. There were no more kings in Greece after the Dark Ages, and so there were no more palaces or fancy tombs. Instead, people began to build big temples for the gods. The Egyptians had already been doing this for a thousand years, so it was not a new idea, but it was new in Greece. This shows how Greeks evolved over time; well actually, they invented many more things. Greece has evolved now its time to see how Rome has evolved.
Ancient rome:In Rome the structure of the coliseums was very important. In Rome the Coliseum was construed. The coliseum had seventy-eight entrances for the plebeians and two for the emperor. There were also arches and vaults all around it. There were high walls to keep the spectators and entertainment apart from each other. The Coliseum influenced our architecture today but the art and the beauty also because of the arches and vaults that some roman styled houses today. This is why the Coliseum influenced our life today. invented a few helpful things in architectural history. Rome like Greece evolved much quicker the Egypt. Romans built many temples for their gods. During the Republican period (500-1 BC), Roman generals built hundreds of temples all over downtown Rome. These were built to thank the gods for the generals’ victories in war. This shows that Rome had a history of architecture. The Romans brought many new ideas to architecture, of which the three most important are the arch, the baked brick, and the use of cement and concrete. In the Republican period, the Romans built temples and basilicas, but also they made a lot of improvements to their city: aqueducts and roads and sewers. The Forum began to take shape. Outside of Rome, people began to build stone amphitheaters for gladiatorial games They evolved so much over time. Now all three Countries have evolved.
