Superstition
Superstition plays a large role in the Renessaince. It shows how people open their minds to new experiences but also shows how they didn't accept it because if they were afraid of something they went after it. One example of this is vampires.
People made stories about vampires and dais how they were bloodsucking monsters with fangs that slept in coffins and only came out at night. These were superstitions. It put a large twist on normal people. When someone sees something, they bend it all out of proportion and brand it 'Bad News'. This ties in to today because everybody has superstitions. Ghosts, the boogie man, splitting the light pole when walking, and letting the groom see the bride before the ceremony on the wedding day are all superstitions people have today.
