The Thinker
Back
The Thinker is a sculpture. The Thinker represents how people in the Renessaince started to show knowledge about their surrounding. They asked themselves questions. Is there a god? Can I get a better job than being a barber/surgeon? Did the chicken come before the egg? For the first time, man is going to actually think. And for themselves.
This all ties in to today because people are always thinking about themselves. So much so that they rarely think of others. There are still philosophers around. They just arent mentioned because people don't exactly care about the future. This sculpture is famous because it was created about the time that people started thinking about things in general. It sits in a museum for all to stare at and wonder that The Thinker is thinking about.
