I sit in my room each night, not wanting to go to school.For i have no friends, all the girls and boys think I'm weird.Because I only wear red and black and my jewelery is of crosses and skulls.The girls all hiss and scoff, and laugh in my face!
Then one day, a new boy came in our classI remember thinking to myself how good looking he was.I could hear all the other girls whispering, and thinking the same.At break times I would find a corner on my own to read my horror books.
But on this day I felt a hand on my shoulderWhen I looked up! He was standing there smiling at me! My heart skipped a beat He asked if he could sit with me, as he was new here, and didn't know anyone.He told me his name was Philip, I said nice to meet you, my name is maxine.I didn't notice all the other girls watching in amazement.
Now I can't wait for the morning to comeTo go to school.For Philip has made me strong, to Ignore all the hissing and laughing, because I'm laughing now. . . .
