Animal Farm Summary Animal farm is an exquisite showing of many features and the complete “irony” of the Bolshevik Revolution and in the part of the story where Hitler appears a glimpse of WW2. I won’t say who Hitler is yet. Farmer Jones is a depressed heavy drinker because of a law suit being filed against him. This depression and heavy drinking puts him into a very slump state, in which he neglects the animals. As this is going down, Old major is passing his “wisdom” or view on life to all the farm animals. His whole chapter long rant is summed up in just a few words. Humans are the cause of suffering, and terrible life, if we get rid of them then the whole world is theirs. Unlimited food, water, etc. The seven commandments were set in place. The next night old major passed on and the pigs took control being called the “smartest” animals. The two main pigs now are Snowball and Napoleon. After many days of this constant neglect and being way underfed, they’ve had enough. One of the cows broke down the door and broke into the feeding room. All the animals helped themselves to food, not knowing that farmer Jones and his crew were about to try and unleash hell on the animals. As they try to beat the animals into place they fight back ultimately running them off the farm. After a little while they pigs take control as not a dictatorship but more as a democracy. Snowball gives a great speech they create a flag and then go do the Great harvest in days less than Jones and his men ever did. Everyone worked accept for the cat who disappeared when work was about and reappeared when food was around. After a while of this going well Jones decides to stop drink for enough time to try take his property back. He and several men armed with sticks (Jones has a gun) try to charge the farm, luckily snowball has already devised a defense plan. First the birds take flight eliminate on them while geese peck their calves. They are easily fended off with the sticks, next sheep etc charge with snowball in the front. Snowball was grazed by the gun fire and sheep were killed. Eventually the ambush drove them off at the barn. Then they put the gun up as a memorial type deal. Soon here after Dogs napoleon raised ambushed snowball and drove him off the farm. Napoleon had always opposed Snowball with all of his ideas, epically the windmill that could produce electricity to make stalls warm, warm and cold water and so on. Soon after snowball was driven out (3 weeks) Napoleon comes out with his windmill plan. At this time he had already proclaimed himself the “ruler”. The rest is history (or going in with my next summary haha).
