The village of Korphe is home to around 400 people. They live in the Braldu valley in the Karakoram mountain range. The village is made up of mainly farmers who speak Balti.
Greg Mortenson, seen above, is a humanitarian who sets out to create schools for children in northern Pakistan. He has the determination to make his goal a real;ity and faces many obstacles, especially with funding, to creatye the schools. He is also thoughtful for not only the children, but his sister. She had recently died and he wanted to honor her death by climbing a mountain to which his adventure began.
I would recomend this book to people who are interested humanitarian work. The book is not difficult to read and is great for almost any age., although younger readers may be bored.
Three cups of tea takes place in northern Pakistan. Mortenson, the main character, is helped by the cheif of a small, poor town called Korphe.
