Miles Davis
-Miles Davis is consitered to be one of the best jazz trumpet players -Miles Davis invented "Cool Jazz" -Joined The Julliard School of Music to meet up with Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie -Led a jazz nonet in 1949 that consisted of non-traditional jazz instruments -With that group, he released an album called "The Birth of Cool" -In that group, he had people of different races, which angered many because nobody did that at that point in time
-In 1972, Miles Davis retired from the music industry for 5 years due to a heroin addiction -Started doing paintings in the 1980's -HE used a "Memphis" style of painting, which had warm colors and contrasting shapes -In his later work, he did his paintings based on african culture -Miles davis died in 1991
