Angelina Jolie was born on June 4th, 1975 in Los Angeles California to Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand. She soon began getting acting roles with her father, and her career soon took off. It was her acting career that opened her eyes to the severe humanitarian crisis in foriegn countries.
Angelina than began to involve herself with trips to third world countries, visiting the refugees and helping out the cause. Her efforts gained her status as a Goodwill Amabassador and she was an accepted member of the UNHCR (U.N. High Commissoner of Refugees). Throughout about the last 7 years, she has continually donated her time to helping others in foreign countries and donating money to help the aide.
