Brutus and Portia Brutus and Portia love and respect each other and have a true, strong bond between them. They speak to one another with kindness throughout the play and they obviously care deeply about each other.. Brutus' stoicalness comes inbetween their relationship, but he does not realize the price it will pay until she commits suicide.
Caesar and Calphurnia Caesar and Calphurnia's relationship isn't nearly as strong as Brutus and Portia's because there is no equality or respect coming from either one. Calphurnia tends to talk to Caesar in bossy tone and Caesar does not take her warning seriously of not going to the Capitol. This was a warning that could have saved his life.
Brutus and Caesar Caesar trusts Brutus at the beginning ofthe play and feels betrayed when Brutus helps to kill him. Brutus does not hate Caesar but he thinks he will be helping Rome by preventing Caesar from taking power. He tries to do the right thing, but he was torn in this decision. He ultimatly kills Caesar in order to save Rome.
Relationships
Antony and Octavius Antony and Octavius' relationship causes alot of strain between them because they both want the power. Octavius would be the obvious choice for the throne by being an actual relative to Caesar, however Antony still holds the strings and uses them to get what he wants. Unlike Brutus and Cassius, they do not seem to be friends, but are instead brought together by wanting to take down the conspirators.
Brutus and Cassius Brutus and Cassius are both very involved in the whole conspiracy and plan together on how to kill Caesar. Cassius is weaker emotionally than Brutus, and tends to act on impulse, which hurts Brutus in the end of the play. Brutus is opposite of this by being a Stoic and has more control over Cassius. Even though they argue throughout the play, they are truley friends and not just joined together to take down Caesar.
