PROTEINS
LIPIDS
Macromolecule
NUCLEIC ACIDS
Amino acids are the basic unit for protein. Amino acids link together with peptide bonds to form polypeptide. The four structure of Proteins are primary, secondary , tertiary and Quaternary structures. Most important type of protein is enzyme.
Made up of sugar and polymers of sugar. A single-sugar molecule that also includes glucose is monosaccharide’s, primary energy source for fuelling cell metabolism. Made up of two is disaccharides. Starch is an energy storage for plants as glycogen is for animal storage. The structural compound of a cell is done in this group.
Fats, phospholipids and steroids are one of the several types of lipids. Fats are composed of fatty acids and glycerol’s. Saturated and unsaturated involve in the fatty acids. The primary structure for cell membrane is Phospholipids which consist two fatty acids. Steroids are the male and female sex hormones, also cholesterols involve stabilizer for cell membrane.
The Four main substances in Macromoecule and the meaning to each.
Nucleotides are made up of RNA and DNA. RNA is intermediates in Protein synthesis. DNA is the genetic inherited from both parents and also can be used for its own replication. DNA also stores and transmits information.
