ZOMBIES! …And all you need to know about them… By: Noah Johnson Prolouge! Ready for the coming apocalypse? So you think. This is not your ordinary doomsday, it doesn’t involve fire raining from the sky, or planetary alignment making our planet’s magnetic field go wacko. Nope, in fact a viral outbreak that really can’t be stopped. I’m sure the government will eventually think of something, I know for a fact that they won’t do something until it’s too late. They never do so. For example, on August 28th 2005, a hurricane by the name of Hurricane Katrina hit the southern coast of the United States of America with a very, devastating effect. I’m not going into detail or anything, but the US government didn’t do that much. They did however act. I’m giving them credit for that (after it happened). Now, with this guide you’ll be able to know what to do when the viral outbreak ‘overwhelms’ the government. They will set up evacuation stations the only trouble is getting to them. If you don’t like going out into that Zombie infested city, well sometimes the best place to be is in a sturdy building with not that many openings, and those openings you will need to make sure they are shut. But we’ll get into that later. First off is actually recognizing the coming apocalypse. The Virus! Before we go out into the world of defending yourself from an impending zombie attack, we need to know our enemy. In this chapter, the virus. Let’s start out with the initial virus, we’ll call it the R4G3 or RAGE virus. What this does is targets the central nervous system attacking the Cerebral cortex and the Cerebellum. The cerebral cortex plays a key role in memory, attention, perceptual awareness, thought, language and consciousness. The Cerebellum is involved with the coordination of voluntary movement and balance. The R4G3 also targets the left side of our brain, causing analytic thought, logic, language, science and math, really anything that requires thinking to stop. This is the reason why it sets the host body and mind into such a primitive state. Making them very stupid, stupid enough to attack one another. I will explain more on this topic in Behavior. Right now, we’ll talk about how this virus spreads, and the symptoms it causes. These symptoms that it causes on the host body include: •Aggressiveness •Loss of logical thinking •Hunger (initially) •Loss of speech (gibberish) •Coughing •Sneezing •Loss of the sense of pain (this is why if it breaks a leg, it will keep on going.) •Vomiting •Flushed or pale appearance These are the major symptoms that the R4G3 or RAGE virus has on its host body. Also a good way to spot a zombie, if the apocalypse hype hasn’t sprung. Now, my theory of how this infection is going to spread. Because of the hunger and aggression part of the virus, the alpha zombie, zombie A, is infected. Already a zombie wandering the streets, he spots a nice delicious person. Because of the zombie’s primitive drive, once he sees something, he wants it. So, zombie A bites, we’ll call the victim Bob. Bob gets bit, like any normal person, he calls that police officer over there and that police officer restrains the alpha zombie. Well now the plague is over? No. Bob here has no idea what this guy has so he goes to the hospital to get checked out. Because the R4G3 takes time to set into its host body, it didn’t show up on any of the tests Bob took, these tests probably were HIV or Rabies. Bob goes home and the next day (around 24 hours) the virus takes hold. Bob bites and kills one person. The rest of the family is trying to stop Bob. Now, in Bob’s current state of mind, he thinks that his family is trying to take his kill. Like any primitive creature, he has to defend it! Biting everyone else. Bob gets the chair or goes to an asylum. But then, his family turns and bites more people, and so on and so on. This theory isn’t limited to blood to blood or saliva to blood contact. If said zombie pukes in a river, and three minuets down, Bob drinks the water, well it’s entirely possible that Bob will now get infected if the virus hasn’t dissipated enough in the water. It travels like the flu.
SCROLL!!!!
