Green Day
21 Guns
Billie Joe Armstrong wrote 21 guns to support the fallen because 21 guns is a salute and someone to clean up there life.He described it like a snapshot of the era in witch we live as we question and try to make sence of the selfish manipulaton going on around us.
The Ramones
Green Day was inspired by The Ramone. The Ramones are a little more punk rock than Green Day but Green Day was once punk when they first started. They both started as a garage band in High School. But sounded some what similiar.
The Stooges
The Ramones where inspired by The Stooges are really really punk rock and their music is a little weird and loud. They invented things like drunk on stage and going crazy and doing stupid stuff like that.
Howlin Wolf
I don't know much about the Howlin Wolfs other than one day when Iggy the leader of the Stooges was somewhere in Chicago and met the band and learned you can let your problems out in song but they where a blues band.
Lastly The Mississippi Sheiks
The Mississippi Sheiks inspired Howlin Wolf and they where also blues and both use guitars, fiddles, and harmonica. They both play sad depressing songs.
So there you have it from alternative rock to punk rock to blues to contry blues. Thats one of the ways to track down who inspired Green Day
