Malcolm X
Martin Luther King
Brown vs Board
Little Rock 9
Thurgood Marshall
Barack Obama
MLK was one of the greatest and most important people in the Civil Rights Movement. He brought power by being a priest and a stong voice helped him get people to join the movement. without MLK there would have never been such a great movement without fighting back physically. Malcolm X had a different view on the Movement. He believed in the word of Gandhi and that the only way to overcome a problem is to fight and never let anything get you down. Malcolm X like MLK, had a strong voice and also had alot of followers.
Thurgood Marshall was the first black in the US Supreme Court. Even though he was the grandson of a slave and was denied the right to go to the University of Maryland Law School because of his skin color, he still showed that it dont matter what color you are to be successful.
Barack Obama is the first African American to be elected President of the United States. This isone of the biggest victories for blacks to date. Barack has said we needed change to overcome a downfall in the most powerful nation in the world and thats why people voted for him. Not exactly because of his color but what he can do for our country. The Little Rock 9 were a group of nine African American high school students that were the first to be put into a non-segregated school. this was huge because it has never been done and they basically were the lab rats on the change. they were treated bad but it still started the end of segregated schools. Brown Vs Board also helped to enddegregated schools. this supreme court battle was to end the segegated schools in Kansas and they went through with it in favor of Brown.
Rosa Parks was the Mother of the Civil Rights Movement. She didnt allow her rights to be taken away from her. She stood up for them and never gave up. Rosa was a huge player in the Movement.
