imagine if everything we thought was realreally wasn't there at allif our whole world was just a dreamwether good or bad it wouldn't matterbecause it wouldn't really existwondering when we were going to wakeup but never really knowing how
or just sitting there wonderingback against the wallif we were a mistakenever meant to really be there at allnot part of the momenta pretty picture hanging on the walljust a figment of an imagination
if this is all a lieand what we hearfeeltouchseetasteand love
is all wrong or not really there at alland we are all just watching these thingssitting at the kitchen table with ourhands in our lapsunable to eat for sewed shut mouthsand black flower petals in place of eyeslies in place of lives
imagine if we were taught what to tastewhat to thinkwhat to feelwhat to hearwhat to seewho to lovebut really the right word is brainwashed
being able to taste the possibilitieson the tip of your tonguebroken shards of glass sliding down yourthroat without a spoon full of honey tohelp you choke it downbleeding from the inside outthey are unable to hear us shout
but they are the ones that silenced uswe only helped them alongby sitting there like we were dumbnot speaking up or thinking for ourselveswe were just empty shellsblowing in the wind like sailson a ghost ship
the sad thing iseven though it is the honest to god truthbut we just keep on denying itwe have even forgotten ourselvestrained to forget as we arewe block out the things that matter to usthe memories we were meant to cherish
the possibility is therejust out of our reachwe can not grasp itis slides through our fingersas slick and slimy and red as blooda bird with broken wings cannot flybut our hearts can still be taught to die
a sweet taste is all that we really haveleft over from ourselvesand we jump and jump into the airmomentarily flying before plummetingback to the unforgiving earthand no matter how hard we try how high we jump we can never quite grasp it
we gave up our freedom for protection of the wrong kind
