The View of Montmarte
Inspiration Poem
Montmartre is a giant factory, Created to poison and kill, Without glory does it kill, Oh, The air it fills, With daring despair, As the ghosts rise to the heavens, watching with a dreadful glare, The cracked sky awoken from its sleepful slumber, Not blue nor white, Is the sky in day and night, A land where poisoning is an occupation, This is a land where the selfish men, Take pride in bringing, The Death And Despair To The Earth.
