August Strindberg was a Swedish writer, playwright, and painter. His style is considered Naturalistis and Expressionistic. In his writing, Strindberg focused on extreme mental hostility, and was considered a radical writer by the working class.

Strindberg married and divorced three times, having rocky relationships and affairs with women throughout his life. Despite his misogonistic behavoirs and thoughts, however, Strindberg was recadnized for having uncommon insight into the hypocrisy of his society's gender roles and sexual morality.
